Last Friday was a half day, and school got out at around 11: 15. Because my parents work, and I live out of the district, I usually go to the Shoreview Library every day. So last Friday, I went to the library. My mom picked me up there and we ate a delicious lunch buffet at Wok Cuisine at 96 and Lexington. Then, since my mom had a meeting at 1:00, she didn’t have time to send me home and ended up dropping me off back at the library again. On Fridays, the Shoreview library closes at a very early 5:00 pm. So, from 1:00 to 5:00, I tried to pass this very long time by reading mangas at the library. at 4:50 I called my mom to remind her to pick me up. Then, I waited outside the library for her. I waited, and waited, and waited for a long time. by 5:30, I decided to count to 1,000 very slowly and see if she’d be here by then. If she wasn’t, I’d have something to be mad about. So I went to the bike racks by the library and fooled around on them while counting to 1000 at 50 bpm, very slowly. I didn’t really count to 1000. I counted to 200, was too lazy to recite the long numbers, and started over at 1 to 200 again. I counted to 200 5 times total, until I counted a total of 1000 numbers. It was 5:55 by then, and I was sort of mad. I decided to walk down to the Shoreview Community Center to cool down and wait for her there. I waited there for another long period, and finally, at 6:15, she came. I had waited for 1 hour 15 minutes total!!! When I got into the car, guess what her excuse was. “I was talking to one of my employees in my cubicle.” What! I thought. Couldn’t you just excuse yourself in the conversation and at least get me?
